Problems and solutions

Sooner or later, most of us experience some kind of sight problem. Fortunately, the majority of these problems can be corrected by wearing a pair of prescription spectacles or contact lenses. Some of us, however, develop more serious conditions which may require more serious kinds of treatment.

The development of some of these can be "nipped in the bud" and stopped if caught early enough; others can even be cured. Still others can neither be stopped or cured, but their symptoms can often be alleviated by drugs, surgery or specialised equipment that makes life easier.

The important thing to remember about practically all eye conditions is that, one way or another, early diagnosis usually means that living with the condition is made that much easier. Which is why it’s vital to go for regular eye tests, so don’t put off going for one until it’s too late! Find out more about eye examinations.

The following is an overview of some of the more common eye conditions  what they are, how they affect your vision and how or if they can be treated.
