Wearing glasses

This is a photograph of a young school kid trying on a pair of glasses.

The best way to find out if you've got anything wrong with your eyes is to have an eye test. You should have a test every two years, unless advised otherwise by your optician. Tests are free for children under the age of 16! It could be, though, that you’re told that you need to wear glasses. If you do, don’t worry - glasses are perfectly OK to wear. In fact, the only time when it’s not OK is when you don’t wear your glasses when you should. That’s not just silly - you may even be doing your eyes more harm.

There are loads of different kinds of glasses to choose from and there’s bound to be at least one style you’ll look good in. There are even frames that look so cool that some people who don’t even need glasses wear them without any glass in them! Prince thinks he looks smart in his, and all the other Pups agree but we can’t say so as his head will get too big for his paws.

Some people don’t like wearing glasses because they think others will make fun of them. Making fun of people wearing glasses is pretty stupid too, especially when you think that most of those people will be wearing them too some day (it’s true!) - and who will be laughing then?!

The important thing to remember is that glasses don’t look silly, they don’t make you weaker, they don’t magically turn you into a bookworm, they don’t make you abnormal, they don’t make you a freak and they absolutely, definitely don’t make you uncool! Right?!
